I can't be the only person that would rather have a Hel than a Ragnarok for the simple fact the Hel can field fighters, can I? I mean it's great the Rag can use Capital guns, but a Titan being outdpsed by anything larger than a Cruiser is a bit...silly.
I think the Titans should have the best of all the Capital Ships, it IS the big mac daddy of them all after all, isn't it?
10x the hp (all capital ships), enough Fighter space to make a Nyx cry (with Fighter bonuses of course), and Capital Shield Extenders/Armor Plates, making all good in the Titan world.
What say you?

I'd rather have the Fighters than the Doomsday Weapon.
Then get a frigging mothership not a titan.
Already said I'd rather have a Hel.
Quote: The doomsday device and the jump portal generator are weapons with unique tactical value.
I agree with that.
Quote: Fighters would be an entirely useless addition to the Titan.
What kind of assinine logic is this based on?
Quote: More hitpoints ? Certainly. Not 50 times (that would invite the logoffski), but ten times isn't a bad start. And it's abilities need to be fixed. Clonejumping, portal generation, etc.
Which is why I said 10x, as for its abilities, I'm talking about design flaws, not actual bugs.

Originally by: Fuujin Then get a carrier, like others have said, titans serve a totally different purpose.
Which is what exactly?

Originally by: Locke Ateid Titans are flying station/gates, decked with a huge array of capital size weaponary, immune to EW, capable of unleashing fleets of ships from their hangers, and have the capablity of activating the only "I-win" weapons in Eve. I think they're a little of both.
Titans suck in that role too.
A Carrier/Mothership being a POS mover is more effective and far less expensive as a 'mobile station'. The POS has Capital size weapons too.

So far all ive heard is "ZOMG T1t4n$ R teh not for killing...tehy R 4 dfnce nd spprt" Wtf is wrong with you guys? Look up 'Titan' in the dictionary. It doesnt say "A large object usually associated with support and defence".
Seeing as how you asked for the dictionary definition to be brought into this discussion:
Originally by: The Dictionary Ti+tan Audio pronunciation of "TITAN" ( P ) Pronunciation Key (ttn) n.
1. Greek Mythology. One of a family of giants, the children of Uranus and Gaea, who sought to rule heaven and were overthrown and supplanted by the family of Zeus. 2. titan One of prodigious size, strength, or achievement: ôthe twin titans of the beverage industryö (David Barboza). 3. The largest satellite of Saturn and the 11th in distance from the planet. It is the second largest satellite in the solar system.
So, we have a choice of definitions.
Do we want Eve titans to be obsolete gods? I don't think so.
Do we want Eve titans to be restricted to orbiting around Saturn? Unlikely.
Do we want Eve titans to be of prodigious size, strength, or acheivement? That's what we have!
Eve titans are really, really big, their doomsday weapons are the most powerful single class of weapon in the game and getting into one is an acheivement.
Whilst the dictionary does not list titans as being for defence and support, neither does it say that they should be surrounded by swarms of fighters.
Titans are fine as they are.
So basically all it is intended to be is a giant E-peen. And it is working as intended...or will when someone actually has one.

Just the jump portal is worth the 60b, the superweapon is an additional tool of mass bbq'ing. It's just 60bn, that's 2 outposts. It's too cheap tbh. 160 should be more like it.
Ever had an uberblob appear on your unsuspecting camp? Soon you will. Titans bend the rules everyone is used to, having one makes people get nervous. Guarding a gate now guarantees you nothing.
Have you ever considered that it's impossible to kill a POS from an alliance that owns a titan? POS takedown is only possible when the system is in lockdown, and with a titan there's nothing in lockdown. Jump portal opens up and 100 ships chew up your dreads for breakfast.
How about this: You can't ever, I mean EVER hold a position or the superweapon jumps up and bites you in the ass. Hostiles have a titan? You can't blob a gate. period.
It's the perfect anti-blob weapon. (or might I say ant-hostile-blob weapon).
The possibilities are just enormous.
While nobody except CCP knows for sure how the Jump Portal works, I am almost certain that the Titan already has to be in the destination system, unmoving, and has to have the time to activate the Array. Thus the Titan brings fleets to itself, it doesn't send fleets to other places.
I am more than willing to be wrong on this point however.

Then use a POS and/or get a Mothership. If you don't see the point to Titans (which has been explained time and time again) don't bother worrying about them. They aren't the 'end' game solution to everything.
If DDD aren't enough to justify your lust for power and destruction, nothing will.
When I see a need for such a ship in such a role, I will be.

Then we're at a agreement that you'll never be statified then, since your lobbying to change the role of a ship that people have a need for. :P
I'm a proponent of versatility. Fighters would make Titans more versatile.
